No one wants to think about starting their car only to find that it isn't working. If you ever find yourself in this situation with your Jeep® car, you may not necessarily require any Jeep service yet. Here are five common reasons why your vehicle isn't starting.

There’s No Gas

Running out of gas may be more common than you realize. After all, do you know exactly how many miles you can go once that "E" pops up on your dashboard?

The Battery Died

If you’ve got gas in your tank, the next thing to think about is your battery. If there’s a clicking sound when you turn the key and the lights and stereo aren’t working, you’ve probably found the culprit.

The Steering Wheel is Locked

Many newer cars come with an anti-theft steering wheel that locks. Sometimes, this can be engaged accidentally, preventing your car from starting. Turning the wheel either to the left or right will generally unlock it.

The Starter is Broken

Even if your battery is fine, if your starter isn’t working, your car won’t be going anywhere. A busted ignition switch will also result in your car not being able to start.

The Fuel Filter is Clogged

When is the last time your fuel filter was changed? If you can’t remember, this could be the cause of your problem. Over time, all the contaminants caught in this filter clog it up, which can hamper the flow of gas to the engine.
