We all know about the dream that Martin Luther King Jr. had decades ago, but we at Fields Chrysler Jeep Dodge don't believe he had any idea with what strength his vision would catch on. Certainly he did not have a national holiday in his honor in mind when he worked tirelessly for Civil Rights, but his legacy has been undeniable.

That's why more than 150 employees of Chrysler Group LLC will be adopting a full week of community service activities beginning today, the holiday honoring King's birthday. Across southeast Michigan, employees will engage in hands-on community service work benefiting local residents in partnership with the United Way.

This year marks the fourth in which Chrysler Group LLC employees have undertaken the MLK Week of Service program. The company and its employees hope to extend and express King's vision of nonviolence and social justice through community service. The program aims to unite people of a variety of backgrounds and ages to work together for the betterment of society in honor of King's vision.

Dodgedealers near Skokie and throughout the country support Chrysler Group LLC and its employees as they devote their volunteer time to the following activities:

·        Clean up and beautification of the Walter White Community Center Early Learning Community Hub as well as painting a mural at the location

·        Beautification of the Vista Maria campus

·        Food pantry organization and delivery at Fish and Loaves Community Food Pantry, Hope Center in Macomb and Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan

Chrysler Group LLC's chairman Sergio Marchionne will also chair the United Way of Southeastern Michigan 2012 campaign.

With efforts like these taking place, King's dream is sure to live on for future generations, and Chrysler and its employees throughout the country are proud to be a part of that.
