How much do you know about the symbols of your state? Did you know that the state flower of Illinois is the violet? Or that the state amphibian is the eastern tiger salamander? How about the official state snack food, which is popcorn?
This is all very exciting, but there are a few things we need to work on, don't you think? How about our vehicles?
At Fields Chrysler Jeep Dodge, we recently learned that the 2013 Dodge Ram 1500 has been named the "Truck of Texas." The award was granted at the 20th annual Texas Auto Writers Association's Truck Rodeo.
While we're a few states away, we take every opportunity to celebrate Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and Ram vehicles that are performing well and gaining attention among the driving public. That the Ram 1500 earns such a prestigious award is particularly exciting due to the fact that Texas is the country's largest pickup market. In fact, some pickups are designed to suit the preferences and needs of Texas ranchers in particular. Thanks to the power, fuel economy and incomparable features on the Ram 1500, drivers in Texas have made this vehicle a state favorite.
In addition to this award, the Jeep Grand Cherokee earned the title of "Sport Utility Texas" and the 2013 Ram Laramie Longhorn was named the "Luxury Pickup Truck of Texas" and full-size "Pickup Truck of Texas." These decisions came down from a two-day San Antonio event held by 50 journalists engaged in on- and off-road vehicle evaluations.
While Texas has claimed the Dodge Ram 1500, Skokie still has an opportunity to claim a favorite vehicle for the state of Illinois. So, what'll it be? Visit Fields Chrysler Jeep Dodge to decide on your vote!
