Since the dawn of their popularity, cars have seemed to go hand in hand with music. From cruising to rocking out, cars and music have been a match made in the streets of heaven.
Like music and cars themselves, the relationship between the two are continually changing, and that goes for the 2013 Chrysler 300 Motown Edition, too. But the advertising campaign for the new, special edition vehicle ties in even more.
The spirit of Detroit shines through the 60-second "Who We Are" commercials, which display the model and celebrated Motown founder Berry Gordy, also a Detroit native. The commercials follow Gordy from his start in Detroit to his new role in New York and Times Square, where the new Broadway show "Motown: The Musical" is taking over. Chrysler has engaged in a distinctive partnership with the musical on top of working with its creator for the new campaign.
At Fields Chrysler Jeep Dodge, we know that the spirit of Detroit and the spirit of every Chrysler 300 has no boundaries, and that's why we're thrilled to promote the exciting new commercial. There's nothing like the power of a Chrysler vehicle and the unforgettable sound of Motown music to give viewers a comprehensive example of the energy that drives Detroit forward.
That means that whether you live in Detroit or Northfield, Chrysler will always have the same character and deliver the same unique driving experience. You can get a taste of that in the "Who We Are" commercials, which show Gordy seated in a Chrysler 300 Motown Edition model outside of the birthplace of Motown Records, the Motown Museum in Detroit. Through visuals and voiceovers, viewers learn the history that Motown music and Chrysler vehicles share in the city. Arriving at its final destination in New York, Gordy exits the vehicle with the tagline "We are Motown and this is what we do," following up with the announcement that "Motown: The Musical" will premiere in March 2013 on Broadway.
To stay in tune with the campaign, keep an eye on the 2013 North American International Auto Show, where the Chrysler 300 Motown Edition will make its debut.
