When it comes to loving your Dodge Ram, Evanston, we know what the feeling is like: natural. What's not to love? Power, style, performance - it's a natural fit!

Well, Ram is about to get even more natural now that Chrysler has announced that Ram trucks will offer bi-fuel versions of its 2500 Heavy Duty pickup, which will receive a name change as well. This model will be known as the Ram 2500 HD CNG, which stands for compressed natural gas. The new CNG Ram will be constructed right in Chrysler's pickup truck plant in Saltillo, Mexico.

But a future of compressed natural gas isn't the only impressive aspect of the Ram 2500 HD CNG. This vehicle, which will be available in Crew Cab model only and come with standard four-wheel drive, offers a payload of 1,580 pounds and will be able to tow 7,650 pounds in the natural-gas model. The truck will operate on a rendition of Chrysler's 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 engine that has been converted to run on both natural gas and gasoline.

Further improvements to the Ram 2500 Heavy Duty pickup include a redesigned engine cylinder head with an additional set of fuel injectors for the truck's natural gas, new spark plugs, a CNG-custom fuel rail, reinforced valves and valve seats and updated powertrain-control software to provide for ease of use in whichever mode of fuel the driver chooses.

The Ram 2500 HD CNG also promises 18.2 gallons of gasoline, or a range of 255 miles with an additional 112 miles on top of that thanks to the truck's gasoline backup tank.
