As you already know, Fields Chrysler Jeep Dodge and Chrysler itself are always growing, and many times, growth means change. But change is always seen as an exciting opportunity in the auto industry, and with the needs of drivers constantly changing, it's something we really can't do without.

As Chrysler moves forward with model and equipment changes undergone to improve vehicle performance and fuel economy, the brand is preparing for a number of beginnings and ends. For starters, the automaker has announced that it will discontinue production of the 3.7-liter V6 engine now fueling the Jeep Liberty and Ram 1500.  The announcement follows Chrysler's decision to equip the 2013 Ram 1500 with its new 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine. A more fuel-efficient option for a changing driving landscape, this Pentastar V6 produces 280 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque.

While that means that its Mack II plant, which produced the engine, in Detroit will be idled, Chrysler reports that employees there will be transferred to nearby plants. Production will end this September.

Also taking a break is the current Jeep Liberty, which is expected to come back into the market for the 2014 model year with a more efficient, turbocharged engine and reconfigured chassis. And with so many beginnings and ends, we truly can't wait for this brand to see a whole new start.

With all of these changes coming up for Chrysler, the great news is that some things will always remain the same. Skokie Jeep drivers can always count on Fields Chrysler Jeep Dodge for quality vehicles and exceptional service.
