As all drivers in Northfield with a used Jeep Wrangler know, this automaker really knows its stuff. That's one reason why the company sold 122,460 Wranglers last year, which adds up to a 30-percent rise over 2010 sales. The increases weren't limited to the automaker's home market, though, as sales outside of the United States rose 10 percent to 26,278 last year.
So what does a car company do when it realizes that it must be doing something right to achieve these kinds of sales increases? They keep right on going.
That's why Chrysler will be upping production of the Wrangler in 2012 as worldwide demand continues to rise. Local drivers know that Fields Chrysler Jeep Dodgealways has what they need, and with this update from Chrysler, that won't change. Our dealership will continue to offer all the Wranglers, Liberties, Cherokees and more that our shoppers are looking to test drive and purchase. Currently, all Jeep Wrangler production takes place in Toledo, Ohio, where production now occurs 20 hours a day six days a week. To continue meeting demand, however, Chrysler has negotiated an agreement with the United Auto Workers union to increase production of the vehicle by some 100 units daily.
With this agreement, Chrysler will add 50 employees to this production hub by June of this year. But with the popularity of the Jeep Wrangler ever rising, Chrysler has stated that adding a third shift may be a necessary measure in the future.
Like our dealership, Chrysler is willing to do whatever it takes to keep drivers happy.
